Facebook's Instant Games are leaving Messenger
Facebook Instant Games was introduced in 2016. Not only do serious players play these games but they are still popular. Over 20 billion sessions of instant games have been played in the last two years.
These were added to the News Feed before being introduced to Groups and the Lite app. The library of instant games is growing tremendously. These include the classic Pacman, the Galaga and Space Invader, the Words Without Friend and Ono.
Facebook is now removing Instant Games from Facebook Messenger. Facebook will present them in the Facebook Gaming tab.
Facebook Director of Games Partnership, Leo Oleib, said that instant games will not be played on a new version of Messenger later this summer.
Removing Instant Games from Messenger will remove all unnecessary and heavily deprecated features in this application. This is also the purpose of introducing instant games into separate tabs
