YouTube Kids is getting its own website
YouTube is offering a separate children's website by the end of this week. A support page has revealed the latest information in this regard. This will obviously be the desktop or web version of the current Kids app.
For the past several years, Google has been critical of YouTube videos targeting children.
YouTube has also closed the comments section of all videos in which children are present. Abuse of children often targets children through comments.
In the past, Google has also faced an FTC investigation. The FTC wanted to see if Google was violating the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act for children under the age of 13.
In addition to introducing a new website for YouTube Kids, YouTube will also introduce new categories for Kids, which will allow children to watch videos in a safe environment. Preschool category is for children age four and under. The Younger category is for children ages 5 to 7 and Older is for children aged 8 to 12.
