    Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox is officially called Xbox Series X. Microsoft revealed the name and console design on stage at the Game Awards today. The console itself looks far more like a PC than we’ve seen from previous Xbox consoles, and Microsoft’s trailer provides a brief glimpse at the new design.

    The possibilities of what Xbox Series X enables developers to achieve was also brought to life this evening with the unveiling of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.     Meanwhile, gaming on mobile devices like phones and tablets is taking off. In September, Apple launched Apple Arcade, its first game subscription service, offering customers access to a list of more than 100 curated puzzle, action and family-friendly games for $4.99 per month. Microsoft has also been expanding into subscriptions, offering a $9.99 per month Xbox Games Pass with more than 100 games. The titles include Minecraft, Gears of War and Halo.
